Martin Environmental Solutions offer Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) services to Local Government.

Local Government

The LAQM Review and Assessment process requires local authorities to review local air quality and assess whether health-based air quality objectives will be achieved. If it is predicted that these will not be achieved an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) must be designated and an Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP) put in place to improve air quality to acceptable levels.

This process is one of the most demanding disciplines on local authority environmental health departments in terms of the technical expertise required to write the mandatory review and assessment reports.

With detailed knowledge and experience of writing both Update and Screening Reports and Progress Reports, including having reports identified by DEFRA assessors as examples of good practice, we can assist local authorities in meeting their annual reporting requirements.

We have extensive experience of undertaking Detailed Assessments, declaring Air Quality Management Areas and Further Assessment report writing.

In addition we can help with the development of action plans to fulfil your legal requirements in working towards the national health-based air quality objectives.

About Us

Martin Environmental Solutions was founded by Neil Martin BSc (Hons), Dip Acoustics MCIEH AMIOA. Neil is an experienced Environmental Health Officer with over 10 years local government experience in the field at an operational and managerial level, along with a further 5 years managerial experience within the food industry. Neil has held positions in a number of local authorities delivering the full spectrum of environmental health services from Pollution Control to Private Sector Housing, Food Safety and Health and Safety.

Neil has a demonstrable track record of achievement at each key stage of his career. A highly personable character, Neil will fit in readily at all levels of the organisational hierarchy. Qualifications held include BSc(Hons) in Environmental Health, IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control and the ilm Diploma in Management. Supplementary qualifications include CIEH Certificate of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control and IOSH Managing Safely. Membership is held of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and Institute of Acoustics.
